Frequently Asked Questions

  • Where can you see me?
    We are able to see you anywhere on mainland Singapore. It can be at your own home, hotel or workplace, as long as there is a private room or space where you can lie down comfortably.
  • How do I book a visit?
    Simply fill up the form on the Bookings Page, or whatsapp/call us at +65 8920 9394 to make an appointment.
  • Can I request for a male or female physician?
    Yes of course! We have both male and female physicians available, subject to availability.
  • Can I see a physician on the day of booking?
    Yes you may. However, appointment slots are subjected to our physicians' availability. For urgent or last minute appointments do drop us a call instead.
  • How do I know which treatment to choose?
    You don't have to! During the consultation, our physicians will recommend the most appropriate treatment for you based on your condition. However, feel free to let us know if you have a preference for or against a specfic type(s) of treatment.
  • How long does a house call usually take?
    For the first session, a TCM house call usually takes around 45 - 60 mins. Subsequent sessions usually take around 30 - 45 mins.
  • How do I know if the appointment is confirmed?
    Your appointment is confirmed when you receive a confirmation text from us.
  • What do I need to prepare for the session and do you provide a massage bed?
    All you need to prepare is somewhere suitable to sit and/or lie down for the duration of treatment. We do not bring along a massage bed. It is also strongly advised to not do treatment on an empty stomach and to have something light to eat before your session.
  • How long is a tuina session?
    The objective of our tuina treatments is to help resolve pain or symptoms you might be experiencing. Thus we do not go by timing, but rather by how long our physician deems necessary to tackle your issue. Unfortunately, we do not provide tuina for purely relaxation purposes.
  • Where is your clinic located?
    THE TCM FOLKS is a fully mobile TCM clinic. As of now, we do not have a physical location that you can visit.
  • Will the physician be able to speak English?
    All our physicians are bi-lingual and will be able to communicate fluently with you in both English and Chinese.
  • Do you offer tele-consultation?
    Yes we do. However the first consultation has to be in person. Subsequent sessions for the same condition can be done via tele-consultation, subject to the physician’s approval.
  • Are you able to prescribe herbal medication?
    Yes we can. Simple medications can be prescribed on the spot. Customised formulas have to be ordered and will be delivered to your home usually by the next day.
  • How much does it cost?
    The base rate for our house call service is $180 per pax. The fee covers the following: 1. Transport Fee 2. Consultation 3. One type of TCM treatment Acupuncture Cupping Tuina 4. Post session care and advice Additional medication or treatment is subjected to extra charges. You may refer to our pricing page for more details.
  • What can I use to pay?
    Payment is made at the end of the session. We accept cash or Paylah/Paynow.
  • Do you issue MC (medical certificate)?
    Yes we do. However, it is up to your organisation's discretion to recognise MCs issued by licensed TCM physicians.
  • Do you issue receipt?
    Yes we do. You will receive an e-copy of the receipt to your preferred email after the session.
  • Can I claim from insurance?
    All our physicians are registered under the TCMPB (Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners Board), which is governed by the Ministry of Health. As such, if your insurance covers TCM treatment, you may submit the e-copy of our invoice to your insurer for claims. However, coverage may differ for different insurance plans. Do check with your provider for more information.
